Fabric, fabric, fabric! That’s what it’s all about this week and I am not complaining one bit. Fabrics make my heart go pitter patter so I couldn’t wait to dive into my stash! Just a reminder of what my overall plans are for Harper’s room…
And here is the room pre-changes…
If you missed my first post of the series, catch up HERE. The crib is gone and is being replaced by the navy upholstered bed you see in the design board. It is the Sophia bed from DHP Furniture and if you love it make sure to follow my progress throughout the next few weeks and you may just win one of your own!
I need fabric for roman shades, the chair, and pillows for the bed. I grabbed a few swatches and clipped them to the existing curtain rod. I did a lot of squinting and staring…
Since we are keeping the gold stencil on the walls I needed something that coordinated. I wanted a mix of traditional and modern and nothing too sweet and girly. I quickly vetoed the pink fabrics. As much as I love them I am completely tired of pink after living with the pink and black accents for the last three years! I started leaning towards the navy options because I love all forms of blue and it would coordinate with the boys’ room next door and our landing area close by.

I also picked up a couple more swatches…
I came across these while shopping for a client and fell in love. This whole line is gorgeous!
After more squinting and staring I decided to go with the Braemore Secret Gate in chartreuse for the roman shades and the Robert Allen Mill Reef for the glider. I am also going to (hopefully) have bolsters made in the spotted!
As for pillows, you all know I could spend hours searching for those. I played around with some at Target but only ended up buying the ivory one and this adorable bow one (not pictured here)…
And I found some great oversized pom pom pillows at HomeGoods. I think I am going to mix in some pillows I already own depending which bedding I choose. Speaking of bedding, last week you saw Harper choose the flamingo sheets but I just couldn’t leave the metallic hearts out so I used one of each! Flamingos on the main bed and hearts on the trundle. I still need to find a duvet or quilt but I have my eye on a couple and will pull the trigger next week.
I know that this all comes across kind of hodgepodge at this point so let’s check in with my design board…
