I am such a scaredy cat!! My husband has asked me to narrow down my paint choice so he can start painting our downstairs. I have been harping on how I want an all-white palette and now that it’s time to do it I am having trouble pulling the trigger! I know whites can be so tricky but I think I have narrowed down my choices to:
Benjamin Moore’s Dove White
and Valspar’s Anthem White
They are very similar and I have seen pictures with both that look exactly like what I want. But now I am getting butterflies at the thought of having to decorate around WHITE WALLS! Why are these decisions so much harder in your own home?!
We will be painting the living room, kitchen, and hallways. I think I am going to leave the dining room as is which is very similar to this…
(very light and airy turquoise)
The dining room is between the living room and kitchen so I figured a little pop of color will be nice. I plan to bring in some blues through the house to tie it all together too. So should I just go for it? Sounds so silly considering I am talking about WHITE walls, nothing bold or crazy but I am scared! I will leave you with my inspiration images to help you get a sense of where I am trying to go…
So tell me dear friends…is it time to just do it??

Oh, Beth this is the story of my life. It is so hard to pull the trigger when it is your own home. Go for it! It is only paint. You can't possibly go wrong with white. I'm only familiar with Dove White and it is lovely. Good luck on your decision!

I suspect you'll know for certain how you feel about the color when you see a finished wall or two … maybe only purchase a gallon for starters then when you are totally over the moon about it go get the additional supplies. But never never dally and lose the support of a husband willing to paint … to the paint store stat! I've used Dove White before and it has an ever so slight grey undertone and the other paint chip you posted looks to have the same on my monitor; if you had selected a stark, sterile, bright white I'd have concerns about your satisfaction, but with the touch of grey in there it should be soft, fresh, and clean, and very mixable with other soft warm neutrals … that's what your inspiration pics tell me you're looking for. I love white walls! I think they can be so calming and really bring out the design of the room. I say go for it. You can always change it if you don't like it. 🙂
