I am a big fan of keeping things light and honest. A lot of that is driven by my love/hate of social media. I want to always be the person who says “Life isn’t perfect” “I’m not perfect” “Let’s have fun!” And part of that mentality comes from trying to balance the stressful parts of redesigning a room or home. There are so many logistics and decisions that go into transforming a space and that is a lot on both sides, client and decorator. I say all that to preface a little story…
Way back when I announced that I had a new 3 week design system. It was a great premise but I have definitely tweaked it a bit over the years. But to promote it, I offered a giveaway. I selected a winner and gifted them a full design makeover. The only catch was that they had to follow my 3 week design system. The goal was to show how this system would streamline things and bring design to life with little stress. Well, turns out that three week system took almost three years to come to fruition in this room. If there was a crying-laughing emoji this is where I would insert it.
The actual design was quick and painless to conceive. The client was great and easy to work with. Life just happened! We finished up her space within a couple months and then they had travel plans. And then something came up with work. And then I’m sure a kid got sick. Who knows, but we didn’t get around to photographing the space until this year when I was back at their house working on another area. So, needless to say I am so excited to finally unveil this master bedroom to you all!
