I feeling so much better this week about trying to get back to the blog and social media. Sometimes you just need to step back and let go of annoyances and try to look at things with a fresh perspective. I am doing a Bible study right now and we are learning about the Sabbath. There’s a lot of talk about creating margin in your life. I feel like this is so important to strengthen your faith , but everyone (christian or not), could benefit from learning to leave space in their life. I think this is why the fury of social media, and everything for that matter these days, annoys me. I don’t want to contribute to the notion that we all need to be doing more and striving so hard. I want to be one of the ones who encourages you to just enjoy the right now, the simple, and the joy of letting go of a lot of the stuff we feel compelled to keep up with. If I can do that with my words, yay. If I can do that by finding you a good deal on an arm chair, wonderful. If I can be a part of social media in any way that doesn’t make me or any of you feel stressed or less than, then I am overjoyed to keep on doing it!
Ok, promise to keep it light from here on (or at least the rest of this post 😉 ) Let’s get on to some of my favorite things right now….
The days of wearing heels have become fewer and fewer, but for these I might make an exception!
To switch things up let’s talk about Pandora stations…which are your favorites? I have been listening to Blood Orange, Tracy Chapman, and Young the Giant lately.
I have an imaginary design board going in my head for our master bedroom and these cabinets are high on the list for nightstands!
I am a cereal connoisseur and this is my current favorite.
This week I have talked a lot about wanting to find inspiration that feels authentic and fresh. That doesn’t always have to come from a brand new place. Julie Blanner’s blog and Instagram provides a consistent beautiful take and it never veers from her true style. Love Julie and her house!
Harper got lots of complements on her Easter dress (“Harper, you look pretty.” “I know.”…gotta teach that girl some humility, ha ha!) The dress would still be so cute for summer and looks so boutique-y for a fraction of the cost!
Thanks for the encouragement this week and reminding me once again that I am not alone in my thoughts! I hope you all have a great weekend!
