Coming up with new, sentimental gift idea for Father’s Day year after year can be a little hard but I really like to give a gift that has a memory tied to it. This year I decided that instead of going with a traditional gift it would be fun to give Taylor his own personalized piece of art…painted by none other than our kids! This is a quick, easy, and fairly inexpensive gift to pull off even if you have waited until the last minute.
what you’ll need
canvas
paint (I used acrylic)
paint brushes
painters tape
pencil

2. number the canvas, number your paints
Instead of buying a gift, give him a place all his own.
If your house is anything like mine, your husband probably doesn’t have much say about decor.
Create a space that is all about him…books, magazines, music, a good pillow, food 🙂

There are so many ways to customize your art.
I don’t really love the combination of colors they chose but I didn’t want to micro manage.
You could easily choose the palette though so that the art matches a specific room.
You could easily do several small canvases too for a cool grouping.
What do you think your father or husband would think of having his own “spot” with custom art?
And speaking of art….come back tomorrow because I am sharing our art wall “then” and “now.”
