Today is the day folks! Actually yesterday started the official reveals with the 20 One Room Challenge bloggers, including Linda, the creator of this fun series. If you have not gone and checked out all of the reveals make sure you do because they are all so good. I woke up and jumped on the computer and I swear it was like looking through pages and pages of a really good decor magazine. They’re good.
And now today is the day for all of the linking participants to share their reveals. I told Taylor that I feel as though I have birthed a baby and I mean it. My room itself did not require a lot of work, just decisions and as usual I was completely psycho when it came to making decisions for my own house. If you have been following along, you already read about that during Weeks 1-5.
before:
after:
So the main changes were the cornice fabric and curtains. Both new choices added the texture and lightness I was looking for. I eventually decided to keep the paint the same and I am so glad I did. It is just so me. I want my house to remain light and bright since it’s a cozy bungalow.
I ended up going with two large square frames and used pages from this book.
I bought mine at Furbish but, I no longer see it on their site.
This wall finally got some love…
Yes, after much debate I went with white shelves and no brackets.
I still plan to use my salvaged barn wood for another project.
I just loved the slick white shelves with our rustic farmhouse table.
Plus, they give me a new place to style, which, is my favorite thing in the world.
Now for the real reason that I felt so much pressure to finish this room. I hinted at “secret projects” and I was referring to the brunch I decided to host in honor of the ORC. I invited some local Charlotte bloggers and it would be the first time I met any of them! The thought of other bloggers being inside my house made me sweat but I am so glad I made that decision because I love these girls and it made my reveal so much more fun!
Here is the room all set up for the brunch…
I went for color, color, and more color!
And tassels ended up being the theme of the day.
(Check my Instagram to see how these ladies unknowingly
showed up coordinated with my decor!)
I invited my most creative friends so it was a fun mix.
And you might recognize some of these faces.
And it was so fun to be with girls who just get it.
Ya know, just get the importance of taking a pretty picture of
the food, and the succulents, and pillows 🙂
My ORC project bled into other parts of my house including my front porch.
Each girl got to take home a tasseled succulent!
And I also fluffed up this little hutch/butler’s pantry area since it is right next to the dining room.
New curtains and prints from IKEA.
Are your eyes about to fall out yet?? Sorry, I just couldn’t edit them down because I wanted to share every detail. Thanks for following along these 6 weeks and thanks for all of your advice and support!
I will definitely share other details in upcoming posts like how I am styling this room just for everyday use as well as future plans I am already thinking about but, for now
I am going to put my feet up and not touch a thing in my house….for at least 20 minutes 🙂
Make sure to go check out all of the amazing talent in the link-up.
There are going to be so many good reveals today!
