Today I have a mini reveal for you! A couple of weeks ago I shared my process of choosing a couch for my sons’ room and today I wanted to show you how it turned out and a sneak peek of the space. I am saving the rest of the room for tomorrow!
Just to recap my boys are 5 and 8 and share a room. It was formerly our playroom so it was a pretty big space to begin with. We planked the walls to add some character and it transformed the whole room.
They really weren’t spending a ton of time in their room and we were beginning to need a separate place for them to hang out. As much as I love American Ninja Warrior I really felt like they needed a space to watch that along with Spongebob and just an extra living space that could be all theirs.
It obviously needed a lot of TLC so I called in the expert, Mark Baity.
When he sent this photo my jaw hit the floor. He totally revived this couch and did it in less than a week! Charlotte people really need to take note of his name!
I couldn’t wait to get it into the boy’s room! And they were so excited too…sometimes I worry what I am doing to my kids that they get excited over a new piece of furniture But, they really do love their new lounge area and have even taken turns sleeping on it, ha ha!
Without giving too much of the room makeover away I wanted to show you the couch in the actual space. It fits perfectly in this little nook and gives them a cozy spot to read, watch movies, and sleep apparently. We actually did use it during a sleepover the other night though and it perfectly fits a child.
The fabric I chose seems to photograph differently in every picture but it’s a true slate blue.
The best part about this couch…aside from getting it for a total steal is that I love the shape and design enough that I would potentially use it in several other rooms of our house. Even right now I am dying to take off those throw pillows and toss on a couple of side bolsters. Maybe even refill those cushions with down but I am trying to be realistic for it’s present function and that is to endure a lot of abuse and stinky feet. But one day it will be my little pet somewhere else. I want so badly to set it up in our dining room and create a mod madmen-era lounge situation! Maybe when they are too long to sleep on it anymore 🙂
If you are looking for a piece of furniture or even home decor but don’t want to spend a fortune you should definitely check out MoveLoot. It’s especially great for finding a base piece, like my couch, for a great price and then having it reupholstered. A very cost-effective way to have a custom piece of furniture. They have locations all over the US too so you don’t even have to be local to Charlotte.
{If you are local to Charlotte mark your calendars for October 1st because they are hosting a fun party at their warehouse, along with a weekend warehouse sale! They are going to host some fun events this fall including workshops!}
And as a special promo to my readers they are offering 15% off your orders through September.

Come back tomorrow because I will be revealing this room in it’s entirety as part of my fall home tour. I transitioned it to fall by swapping out the bedding and adding in some accessories that give it a cabin-like feel! Perfect for cozy fall nights!
