Last month I shared my plans to makeover this bathroom in my house…
I know, I know…why would I want to change up that beaut, but the time has come for my kids to have an updated bathroom. I began decorating this room my first go-round by just absent mindedly choosing a paint color. Then I tried to reverse that mistake by making small decorative changes. But mainly I just turned blind eye and keep the door closed a lot.
This time around I wanted to treat this room as just that, an actual room. I wanted to start with a cohesive plan and make purposeful decisions. And I wanted to decorate this room with as much thought and personality I would give a larger room.
We started by choosing a paint color that would be cohesive with the rest of the house.
We have used this color in our house already and it goes perfectly with our color scheme.
Next was the design plan, which I shared last week:
I wanted a clear picture of the room so I could choose accessories that would all compliment each other in the end. I knew that I wanted to incorporate a gallery wall because:
1. It is unexpected in a bathroom
2. It would add lots of color and personality
3. The room needed a focal point
Without a window this dark space needed some brightening up and a grouping of colorful art could do just that. I decided to collaborate with one of my most favorite kid companies, Land of Nod, because they have the most unique selection of art.

To prep for the gallery wall I went ahead and taped off their on which I wanted to hang things. I suggest doing this when you are hanging any sort of grouping so you can be sure you have the right scale and sizes. I spent a good chunk of time looking through all of their art and believe it or not I ended up choosing about 6 pieces that I haven’t even shown you in my round up or design board! I am telling you there is an insane collection!
Here is a sneak peek of me laying it all out just to make sure of the arrangement before it all went up:
Next week I am going to reveal the bathroom in all its glory so make sure to check back in!
*Thanks to Land of Nod for supplying art for this project! As always all opinions are 100% my own!
