Today I am sharing my tips on how to pull a room together on a brand new (to me) blog. Marty from, A Stroll Thru Life, reached out to me to participate in her Pulling It All Together series and I loved the idea behind it. So many people can go out and buy things they like but to actually pull a room together is a whole other story. I shared one of my favorite rooms in our house and just gave my thinking behind my choices so you can get a better idea of how I made it all work. Click here for my my post!
what I have been doing in Charlotte
Charlotte suddenly seems like it is bursting with local talent. I seem to meet a new blogger everyday and that’s on top of some of the alumni who have been at it for years (Emily A. Clark, Bryn Alexandra, The Nester…). I got to hang out with my ORC brunch buddies again this past weekend for a little thrifting fun. We headed to VTGCLT, a cool pop up market where there was even more talent to take in. There are tons of vendors with everything from mid-century furniture to handmade jewelry. The highlight of my day was meeting Kathryn Godwin. Because I am a full-fledged Emily Henderson stalker I recognized her right away from this recent post on Emily’s blog. Not only was she my 6 degrees of separation from Emily, she is so uber-talented. Her kind of work is what inspires me almost more than any perfectly decorated room. I love people who can create and her projects just make me want to make stuff.
Here is just one of her inspiring pieces, a paper chandelier…
breaks over…my favorite 5
Well ladies (and gentlemen??) I am back from my brief break. Isn’t it nice to just take a breather now and then? Especially when you can ease back in over at someone else’s blog. I am over on Dimples & Tangles today sharing my top five favorite posts from my blog. I am helping Jennifer out while she is taking a fun little break herself. She has been on a road trip with her family and I am have been tagging along via her Instagram. Jennifer is one of the nicest bloggers around, which is surprising because she has enough talent to be super snobby 🙂 She can turn a room into something really special with just a can of paint and her mad DIY skills. If anything I should be sharing my top five favorite posts of hers! I’d love for you to go check out my post there today and stare at all her eye candy while you’re at it!
