Hey all! I am so happy to have a nice uneventful weekend under my belt. The last couple of weeks have been so busy and full that it was nice to just chill out this past weekend. Especially since I was gone last week attending the The Southern C’s Summit conference. I wanted to go last year but the tickets sold out so this time around I made sure I got registered early. I have never attended a conference and, truthfully, wasn’t really sure that they are all that beneficial, but I am so glad that I went to the Summit and have totally changed my tune. I can’t speak for all conferences but this one is truly special. I traveled down with Summer and we had a blast!
e-design: your questions answered
A couple of weeks ago I asked for feedback on the whole e-design process and you guys shared some really helpful stuff. Here are a couple of common questions I received:
my services
I remember when I first started blogging/reading blogs almost 5 years ago and it seemed like there were only handful. I was constantly coming across the same 5 or 6 “big dogs” but otherwise it was a pretty small pool…or there were lots but everyone was still figuring out how to get their name out there. There was no Pinterest or Instagram so that probably had a lot to do with it. Anyway, these days there is a blog everywhere you look and the competition is fierce. Luckily I do not aim to be the most well-known blogger but that doesn’t mean I don’t have to keep up in some ways. Blog design is a huge part of blogging now and if you want to seem legit in anyway you have to at least try in that area. I had Darci revamp my blog a while back and I am still really happy with it. Other than that help I just nip and tuck it where I can.
The smallest changes take me hours so I am pretty happy with the results just for the fact that I figured it out on my own. The fact that Taylor makes fun of me for being scared of software updates on my iPhone, I consider it a huge accomplishment. Part of good design is making your site easy to navigate so I wanted to update my Services page. Like I said, I do not aim to be the world’s best blogger but I do want potential clients to be able to find me and easily get a sense of what I offer.
