how to: use a dresser in a playroom or dining room
So as you know, my sister just moved back to NC from Seattle and although I would love to have her and her family move in with us, Taylor and Todd are not going for the sister-wife idea. They are going to be renting for the time-being and they are running into problems common to many renters- a space that isn’t exactly fit for their needs. They obviously won’t be putting a whole lot of extra money into their house since it’s temporary so they are trying to make everything work.
The master bedroom is much smaller than their last so they are having trouble fitting their king size bed and all of their furniture in the room. Their dresser simply won’t fit in the space but they don’t want to have to store it. I suggested that they use it in their playroom or dining room. Either space could benefit from the extra storage and a dresser would be an unexpected piece.
my house: boy/girl bathroom
Harper changed the dynamic is this house, she added some more estrogen and a whole lotta cute! She and the boys will eventually share a bathroom (if they ever get out of mine!) so it is going to need to be gender neutral. As it stands, it is pretty boy, Pottery Barn circa 2006…
Try to ignore that dirty mirror!
And I am kicking myself for painting the room green but
I am going to try to live with it for now.
I think the new shower curtain does at least brighten everything up.
The curtain is from the Kate Spade line sold at Bed, Bath, and Beyond.
She has some really cute bath accessories.
The rest of the series from this shower curtain is adorable:
But I don’t usually go for a set-in-a-box look.
I am thinking of mixing in this bath mat from a different collection.
And I still need to add in some other containers, towels, and artwork.
I originally wanted to do this to this bathroom so I may
try to work in some of those elements as well.
The good news is it’s my house so I can tackle this project slowly.
Which is good considering how little time I have for our house lately!
