We’re at the final countdown! I had my reveal photos taken yesterday so I am officially done with my space!! I definitely sweated through my last week though. No matter how hard I try to prepare it always seems like I am running around crazy right before a shoot. I am sure my photographer hates me because I style and restyle the whole time she is taking photos, I obsess about the lighting, and just generally spaz out.
Let’s revisit what’s been accomplished so far:
Week 1: I shared my plans for our landing area. It is a small space that is too small for any furniture arrangement but big enough that it should be used in some way.
Week 2: It was time to gather inspiration for our built-in bench. I gravitated towards benches with storage and that were not short on style.
Week 3: I spent this week finding all of my textiles. I found myself in the midst of a navy, white, gold, and plum palette. I’m not complaining.
Week 4: I had to choose my lighting and found it hard to pick through the many gorgeous options from LampsPlus.
This week I got to sit back and watch the pieces being installed! The bench came first and my contractor nailed it! It looks like this piece has always been a part of our house and his attention to detail is spot on. I had a last minute idea about using some metal perforated trim and he made it exactly (better!) how I envisioned. I got the inspiration from my friend Eileen’s recent kitchen renovation…
Here’s a little peek…
Next up the roman shades were installed and I am in love! I used this Bindi fabric from Lacefield Designs and it is every bit as fantastic as I thought it would be!
I gave a little sneak of those on Instagram too.
Everything has been coming together so nicely except for one area…
Usually I love bookshelf styling but these have thrown me for a loop. Originally we built them because we truly had an overflow of books and needed the space. I love the functionality but aesthetically they felt too dark to me.
Here is a progress shot from this week:
I stood back and stared at them for so long I finally just had to walk away.
And this was the real life scene going on below…
I had a little brainstorm that night and ended up with a solution that I think works but you will have to just wait until next week to see if you agree!
I will also share whether I was able to stay on track with my budget. I have been using itSums to track my spending and it’s been so helpful. As of last week I was coming in under but we all know how I panic shop when the finish line is in sight!
Be sure to head over to the link-up to see all of the other great projects going on!
Thank you to all of my sponsors, Lowe’s, LampsPlus, Lacefield and itSums.
Although some products were provided all opinions and writing are my own.
Thank you for supporting the brands that help make creative content possible!
