MOODBOARD MONDAY
Functional Family Living Room
We’re back this week with another moodboard that incorporates our love for earthy neutrals! This week the board was created by Catherine. She really deserves proper introduction and one day soon I hope we can get some updated photos and a real intro to this girl because she has become such an asset to DPI! But until then here is a look at what she’s dreaming of for her own home. She is in the latter stages of a major renovation and after many design decisions she is anxious to put her stamp in the decor. In her words…
I’ve been thinking a lot about living rooms. I’m stuck on ours, and I think it’s because I’m trying to work around so many existing pieces! Here is my dream room, on a realistic budget!
Relatable, right? Working around pieces that you aren’t quite ready to replace. Dying to purchase those beautiful pieces, but trying to stay realistic about budget…and kids….and function. This board checks all those boxes and has a great mix of pieces!
THE PIECES
{SOFA}: This sofa has a great shape and looks tailored but would be so comfy for the whole family to pile up!
Cameron Sofa = $1300
{CHAIRS}: This style chair has been very popular in the last year or two and for good reason. They have such a laid back feel but still look polished enough to be in a family room. I love the exposed wooden arms to bring some warmth to the room.
Lounge Chair = $350
{RUG}: We have seen more and more a move toward neutral rugs. They make such a great backdrop for revolving accessories and colors. I love this simple shape and shades of this one.
Icicle rug = $399-1200
{OTTOMAN}: If there is one thing we all know parents it’s that a coffee table takes a lot of abuse from kids! What better way to make it kid-friendly than to choose an upholstered ottoman instead. This ottoman would make the perfect spot to kick up your feet, serve as additional seating, and add the perfect dose of fabric to the room! It just so happens that the designer of this ottoman was at High Point Market and we had the opportunity to meet her. We will definitely share what else we loved from her line int eh coming weeks!
Indigo ottoman = $995
{STOOLS}: Every room can benefit from a vintage piece(s). It gives the room unique personality and adds some depth. In this case the vintage pieces- the pair of cane stools- also have the function of being used as side tables or extra seating.
Vintage Stools = $225
{END TABLE}: Catherine and I always agree that every room needs some form of natural wood. It just warms things up and keeps it all feeling casual and earthy. I love this simple table for the organic nature and it pairs so well with the dark grey sofa.
Natural Wood End Table = $166
{LAMP}: A room designed by Catherine wouldn’t be complete without a pop of something modern. She has such a natural way of mixing traditional and modern pieces. I love this!
Flint Lamp = $147
{PILLOWS}: A room is complete once you choose the colors and patterns to bring in with pillows! This room gets it’s final layer with these simple geometric pillows for a cozy but unfussy look.
Tonic Living Pillows = $36-$41
{ART}: Catherine didn’t include this with her board, but art is a definite! She would add these pieces to the walls for a shot of greenery…the best kind- the kind you can’t kill 🙂
Set of Eucalyptus Prints = $25 and up
Please help me continue to welcome Catherine by leaving her a comment of your favorite item in this board! She has been working her magic behind the scenes and I am so excited fro you guys to see more and more of what she creates! I know I have the best most supportive readers so I know you’ll all make her feel loved!
