There is little I find more important when it comes to decorating than the power of mixing old and new. Mixing period is crucial to achieving an organic and charismatic room, but the specific mix of old with new creates such a fun balance. And there really is no one better at scavenging those antique shops than Eddie Ross. It is no secret that I have a thing for Eddie after spending a little time with him in High Point and again at The Summit C and I feel so very fortunate that I had a chance, in real life, to see how genuine he really is. I don’t mean in a general sense either…he literally had conversations with me like we go way back and was happy to share his insight of this business. I am all for talent but back that up with a humble and kind personality and I’m smitten.
Eddie has poured his heart into writing a book called, Modern Mix
and it is going to be released on September 1st.
I got to see a preview of the book and, I’m telling you, it made me yearn for a good flea market! As I looked at Eddie’s finds woven into modern decor I had a new appreciation for his ability to mix.
Feeling inspired I decided to look around my house to see my own treasures from the hunt.

I didn’t realize just how many fun finds I have from over the last few years and after flipping through some of the pages of Eddie’s book I am even more excited to hunt for some thrifted fall decor.
