Do you ever think about the kind of house you want? Not as in floor plan but as in feeling. One of the things I try to do when I meet with a client is to get a feel for their home and the people who occupy it. The best way to create a home that will make someone happy is to be able to really personalize it and this requires finding out exactly the feeling a person wants their home to have.
some want “cheerful”…
others want “peaceful”
and others want “cozy”
I got to thinking about this in terms of my own house the other day because I had never really given it thought as I would for a client. I came up with three words that I would like to describe my house when it’s all said and done:
inviting
comfortable
and a little quirky
How do you want your house to feel? One easy way to find your “key words” is to look through your Pinterest boards. Actually go back and look at what you have pinned and you will probably start to see a common thread or feeling. (The word “feeling” hasn’t been used this much since the last episode of The Bachelor).
