My living room gives me more grief than any other room in our house. I have fought the layout and cussed the architects more than once. It’s a running joke of how many times I have rearranged the furniture, including this last shake up. The room is long and narrow and our front door opens right into it, so I have always struggled with not having an “entryway.” Because this room has baffled me time and time again I end up buying things that maybe work but aren’t exactly my style, but I am putting an end to pointless buying. I am making it my goal to only purchase things that I love and that will help me work towards a house that feels very me. So until we can renovate or move I am working with my little pain-in-the-ass room and here are some simple updates I have in mind…
1// Adding in some new pillows. I want to find a mixture of those colors with blue and black being the base colors. I can always switch out accent colors depending on the season and right now for fall I am feeling the fuschia and grey.
2// I just feel like greenery brings life to a room. I want something that is either, fake and doesn’t look tacky or something living that requires little to no care.
3// Quirky accessories in gold including a mirror. I love that peanut storage box and I am currently hunting a mirror to layer with some art.
4// I have the perfect spot to toss that wooly rug. I need a little more warmth in the room.
5// More black and white. I can no longer live without more of this graphic combo in my living room!
I think if I make those conscience changes to the room it will begin to feel more my style and I will be able to ignore the layout issues. Do you have a room that makes you cringe??

The peanuts are awesome! I love the direction you're headed. It's a constant struggle to not buy what works and only buy what you (I) love. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

It would be easier if Target would stop having clearance and HomeGoods stopped existing but I will try!
