Bedrooms must have a couple of standard things: bed, night stands, clothing storage, and lighting. But you don’t have to be boxed in by these things. Why not take an unexpected approach and add a little personality to your retreat?! Here are two things that I would do if I were designing a room…
hang a light in an unexpected place

Most of this room screams traditional but the chandelier hung over the bedside table really takes it up a notch. It adds a unique touch and conveniently frees up some bedside real estate.
(*LOVE the extra large headboard too!)
big art hung low

I love the unexpected punch of the big graphic art hung lower than you would expect.
It could have easily, and predictably, hung over the bed but this little tweak adds so much more.
(*Also take note of the matching bedskirt and wallpaper, funky bench fabric, and patterns on patterns!)
What are your tricks for adding an unexpected touch to a room?
