Long story short- our neighbor decided to have all of the tress between our driveways cut down.
They were 20+ year old Bradford Pear trees that provided tons of shade, privacy, and a cool tunnel effect over the length of our driveway.
Since our neighbor just rents out the house he has no interest in re-planting trees..big thanks George!
So we have been trying to find some trees that will not interfere with power lines (part of the initial problem), that will grow quickly, don’t cost a lot, and that are attractive.
My husband voted for cyprus but I wanted something more leafy
so we decided on Lombardi Poplars.
We are doing some more research right now to make sure we can find and afford them,
but I think they are really cool…
They would change in the fall too…
And they will make our driveway look more like this so who needs a tunnel…
Any arborists out there that can tell me if these are a good choice??

I'm not an arborist but I believe these are junk trees. They grow fast but die young. They aren't a long term investment kind of tree.

Thanks for the tip 🙁

I've never heard of them. I don't like Cyprus, either. I love Green Giant Arborvitae.

Ooh thanks I will look those up! I just hate how Christmas tree-y cyprus look, there's a time and a place for those.

I am no tree expert … but agree … no cypress!! Good luck on your search! xo
