…know when to take a break. It’s like when you’re at a party and you’re struggling to make conversation and your jokes just aren’t that funny and you realize, hey I’d much rather be home in my pjs watching old episodes of Sex in The City. Well that’s kind of how I’m feeling. Every time I log onto my computer I immediately get writers block. I can’t come up with one single thing to write about even though I have some fun projects going on right now. And I keep bypassing the blogs I usually love and am totally slacking on replying to any comments (sorry!). I am trying to eek out any extra time from my mom/wife life for the projects I have going on and quite frankly I think I am just tapped out creatively right now when it comes to the blog.
I have finally figured out the solution for these times and that’s to just check out for a couple days. I know a couple of days with less responsibility will work wonders. And the timing is perfect because today is the last day of school which means as of tomorrow I will be home with my 7, 4, and 1 year old. I am sure by 10:00 am they will have eaten everything in our pantry twice, destroyed our living room, and announced that there’s nothing to do. I am going to need this recharge 🙂 Thanks for understanding and I will see ya in a few! In the meantime please follow me on Instagram. Even when life is crazy I can always manage to snap pictures throughout my day!

Beth good for you for knowing when to give something a break! I can't even imagine working in design, caring for your three little munchkins and a house, and blogging…..you amaze me! I slow down with blogging a lot in the summer…..just don't want to miss out on my kids growing up…..it's already going so fast. Enjoy your summer with your littles!

Thank you for saying that Lisa! I know that you have been through so much of what I am doing right now and it really makes me feel better to know that I am not crazy for feeling overwhelmed sometimes! And I always like the reassurance that slowing down is the right choice!

Amen! Enjoy your break and the kiddos. I had to do the same, feeling drained and can't seem to get ideas, thoughts, etc onto my blog. Though my phone is full of images I want to share, I just cannot seem to get it together. I think you and the kiddos may need to spend a weekend here in Charleston and we can get inspired together!

It's like our brains just only have so many compartments, ya know?! I would love to slow down in Mt.P!

I completely agree with Lisa, don't know how you do it!! I always notice the blogosphere slows down for the summer, too many fun times to pass up!
Enjoy!

As soon as May rolls around I feel my creativity start to shut down. I think it's nature's way of preparing me for being home with all three. I know these years are limited so I want to always put that first!

Sounds like a great plan to me. Have fun on your little break

Thanks! Don't do anything cool while I'm gone 🙂

So happy that you are listening to that voice…and knowing when to slow down and enjoy the moment. No room design or blog post is ever as important as those adorable little faces staring at you saying…"I'm bored Mom!" 🙂

Ha ha, I guess that's so true and it's nice to hear from a mom with older kids what I should be focusing on!

Is it sad that I feel like I need a break like this every two weeks 🙂 I love that you wrote this post and enjoy your time!
