Sometimes I get lost in the craziness of my life. Between raising children, cooking a third bun in the oven, keeping the spark alive in my marriage, managing our house, and trying to pursue my own hobbies life can just be a blur. Surely there are lots of you who feel the same? At the end of each day I often find myself going through a mental list of what I didn’t get done or how I came up short somewhere that day. When that list starts to get too long I know it is time for a breather.
I took a couple of days away from blogging last week to just give myself a mental break. I wanted to really enjoy my baby shower and not just let that day rush by in a blur too. I am so glad I made that decision- pat on the back to me- because nothing brings on a fresh perspective for me like a good relaxing break.
I started thinking about the direction of my blog and what exactly I want it to say. And it’s really pretty simple. I started this blog as a way to put my abilities to use. Announcing my blog was so nerve-racking because what if I couldn’t live up to what “so-and-so” could do or what if people thought I was a joke for trying to help them decorate when I don’t have an interior design degree (or even worse if they could see my house full of un-finished projects?!) But I have been lucky enough to have people around me, whether in my personal life or the virtual blog world, that keep reminding me that what I have to offer is something to be proud of.
I know that the best practice for me is right here in my own home and I want to share more of that with you all! In an effort to getting back to the basics- the reasons I started this blog- I am going to spend more time sharing some of my thoughts and projects that focus on creating an affordable and personalized home. It will still be my same style of blogging but with the emphasis on making your house a home. Such a simple statement that we have all heard time and again but that can be so hard to attain.
I hope you all will enjoy my efforts to show you
how I think you can create a house that is simply home.

All those gorgeous ladies!
Your direction with your Blog is smart, very, very, smart. It is exactly what I have done. I went back and forth with a "themes", tried different approaches, and realized that everyone was really interested in what MC and I did right here in our Bucket List House!!!
