I woke up yesterday to a pitiful little fellow. Sullivan had the dreaded stomach bug yesterday and it made for a nasty morning. Luckily all was cured by lots of rest, movies, and a bendy straw…
Taylor also woke up not feeling well.
By some miracle I actually convinced him to go see the doctor!
The doc said that this bug going around is showing up in kids with vomiting and stomach issues and in adults as a bad cold. Lucky us to have both versions in our house 🙂
But a day at home was not all bad on the decorating front.
I decided to knock out some of the projects I have been putting off.
First on my list was to finally hem the curtains in the boys’ room.
I use the word hem loosely…
This was my first foray into fabric glue…where have I been?! Couldn’t have been easier!
Does this stuff hold alright though?
Phase two is going to be adding black out panels following these instructions from Sherry.
I am keeping my fingers crossed
that everyone is now on the mend and that it does not spread to me or Oliver!
*Sorry for the lack of pictures. I did decide to return the camera (complained about that here) and am waiting on my replacement. I took the Coolpix to a local camera store and they explained that those were the best my pictures were going to get. Bottom line was that it just didn’t take pictures as good as the Nikon I was used to. We decided to just bite the bullet and buy the Nikon D3100. The quality of pictures is just so great and it is hard to go back once you have used such a nice camera. It should be here any day so I can take some photos of the completed kids rooms and of course the baby!

Beth,
I've used Liquid Stitches just a few times … after washing an item I've occasionally had to do a "repair" but that's a few dabs of glue so no biggie. I don't know about dry cleaning. I think those are West Elm panels you showed so they should be able to be cold / gentle washed. On the blackout panels, I recently noticed that Target has blackout liners on the shelf and a reasonable price when you consider the cost of blackout fabric, perhaps another option. Hope your two under the weather recover quickly and that you and Oliver stay germ free and well 🙂

ok thanks! I am hoping that I don't ever have to clean them so hopefully they hold up well.

Sorry to hear about your sick babies…my 18yr old "baby" took the train home from college last night with a terrible cold and cough. Still feels good to come home to mom…oh and go to the 1st game of the World Series tonight with dad and brother! Go Giants! I have used the fabric tape to hem curtain panels and it works great!

That's the sign of a great mom and a comfy home if they still want to come back home for comfort!
