This year I am going to muster up a little courage and confess some of my goals for my house. I usually keep these things to myself because I don’t want to be judged if/when they don’t happen. But I made sure to choose a couple of my dreams that are actually feasible unlike the other ones like, make my house be oceanfront or add a third story. So here is my grand plan #1:
Go White!
I am tired of dreaming about having a soothing all-white palette. I am determined that this will be the year that I start to incorporate more white into the backgrounds of our rooms. It screams beachy ease to me and with #3 on the way I want all the faux beach I can get.
Here are some of the images I have pinned for inspiration…
I am telling you…this is about to go down here.
You may notice my “all-white” is not strictly white but these images capture the kind of white I am going for. I want a blank background with a little color layered on top.
I want the whole house to flow and I want all this white to mask the chaos and filth that is usually the case around here. Hey man, this is my dream…it can be as crazy as I want!
I am going with slipcovers where I can and will be stocking up on Magic Erasers and bleach.
So what needs to happen to achieve the look is this:
(Remember my dream comes on a budget)
* paint the dining room white
* paint the office white with maybe one bright accent wall
* add horizontal white planking to the boys room (already posted about that here)
* sell brown couches and replace with white slipcovered sofa and chairs
* change l-shape couch slipcover to white (it is currently beige)
* add neutral bench cushion to dining room banquet
Purchased this cushion from West Elm in pebble. It’s dimensions work perfectly so we don’t have to have a custom one made, yay!

* replace dark leather bar stools to something metal or white
And probably most crucial to this whole shebang is to find the perfect white paint.
Any suggestions?
I don’t want the whole house to look like we just moved in and were too lazy to paint. I want something soothing not stark.
I actually saw Jenny’s post about using this white and it has been echoing in my head ever since…

So there you have my plans. My creamy dreamy white plans! I am going to try to only focus on the projects that will start to bring this to life and I will update you as I go!
Do any of you have lots of white in your home?

LOVE all of your inspiration, Beth! I painted my kitchen, living, dining and family rooms all Navajo White (creamy white) earlier this year with the same plan. Nothing better than announcing your list to the blogosphere for motivation! 🙂

I do, I dream of all white also. It is so soothing and peaceful. I have stayed neutral in many rooms, but not WHITE..Your goals are worthy and I wish you the best at crossing off your listQ
