This past year we have seen a resurgence of gingham and buffalo check. It is such a classic pattern that somehow still brings a modern edge to a room. I played around with a fabric remnant the other day and came up with this layered blue scheme.
I picture this scheme in a little boy’s room but truthfully I would also love it for a guest room or breakfast nook. The mix of the chambray and gingham is such a casual fun pairing and I love tone on tone blue if you are trying to achieve a classic soft look.
And in keeping with the softness I would go with Benjamin Moore’s Paper White or Horizon.
I would use the cording as pillow trim. It would make an adorable combo for a lumbar pillow.
I found the carpet swatch from a local place and I love the honeycomb pattern! It provides enough visual interest without taking away from our fun gingham!
I had some leftover faux leather swatches from this project so I threw them in as well. Since this scheme is pretty monochromatic, texture is the key to creating interest. I would use this faux leather as hardware or maybe even a curtain tie-back. Get creative!
