I have been on the hunt for a large jute rug, either 8×10 or 9×12. I wanted a larger one to use in the nursery and I have a softer one going on top. Since it is going to be used as the “bottom layer” I didn’t want to spend a lot. I had my eye on this one…
It is on sale right now through World Market but the larger sizes keep selling out. Boo!
On sale they are still close to $300 so I decided to check my trusty IKEA.
They carry a very similar rug, the Tarnby and even after buying two, I only paid about $200.
I bought two of the 5×8-ish size and laid them side by side, creating an 8×10-ish rug.
(I say -ish because their measurements are slightly different from standard rug sizes.)
The rugs lay flat and have a good clean straight edge so the “seam” is hardly noticeable, especially when they are going to have a rug on top of most of it.
I will share pictures of the “after” as soon as my top rug comes in!

I did this, but I sewed them together. Can't beat the price.
