Today I am sharing my tips on how to pull a room together on a brand new (to me) blog. Marty from, A Stroll Thru Life, reached out to me to participate in her Pulling It All Together series and I loved the idea behind it. So many people can go out and buy things they like but to actually pull a room together is a whole other story. I shared one of my favorite rooms in our house and just gave my thinking behind my choices so you can get a better idea of how I made it all work. Click here for my my post!
The very reason that my hobby of decorating became an actual paying job is because I had friends who would say “I need help pulling this room together” or “I have several pieces but don’t know how to make a whole room work.” These little requests for help were thrilling to me because I actually felt like I could use my skills for something finally. I may not be able to bake or crunch numbers but I can certainly look at a room and see a vision for a cohesive design. So I began helping friends and family and that turned into referrals and a blog. I began to figure out a process (still fine tuning that every day) and began to really get in a groove with decorating for other people. What’s been even more exciting is that fact that now I can offer a range of services and even do virtual design projects. I am able to do that through design boards, part of my e-design services. Since I announced my $100 design board deal back in the spring I have been bombarded with customers and I am loving it! For some people, design boards are unfamiliar territory so I thought I would explain the process a little.
Schedule Your Appointment
What are you waiting for?? If you are still staring at that room in your house without the motivation or skills to finish it yourself…contact me! I love to swoop in and help you turn an eyesore into your favorite room in your house! Just simply email me and I can get you all the paperwork to get started!
Pictures, Payment, Possibilities
Once you have secured your design boards with payment it’s time to send picture of your space along with all the details I request in the questionnaire. Once I have these things I can begin to brainstorm a vision for your space. Working from information gathered from you and my own ideas for the space, I start to compile inspiration. It usually looks a little like this in the beginning…
(Clients don’t see this part because I know it would only scare/confuse/baffle them!)
Defining a Space
After I have filtered through all of my ideas I begin to narrow in on the design for the room. I love this part- when all the pieces start to fit! What begins as that little collage above, slowly morphs into this…
And I know people like options so I usually give alternates…
Executing the Plan
I spend a lot of time and energy selecting just the right pieces so that the designs will (hopefully) please my client. I take into account all of the information I gather from them and try to really create a room that reflects their style, just with my abilities to pull it together. Once the plan is approved the client has all the information to make the purchases. I supply resource information and suggestions. The beauty of e-design though is the fact that this board doesn’t have an expiration date…clients can move as quickly or slowly as they choose to complete the room.
Sometimes people don’t feel comfortable going it alone
and that’s when Add Ons come into play:
I can even come and put the whole room together for an hourly fee.
So if you have been debating getting that extra help maybe now is the time!
Send me an email and we can chat!
And since my spring deal has been such a hit I have extended it through the summer.
I also have a brand new deal to announce next week!

Thanks for letting me know! I think it was bc my profile was set to private but I just changed it. Is it showing up now? Do you keep your IG profile private? I keep having issues with things showing up when it's private.

You are one talented and hard working lady!! So glad you are sharing your amazing skills with the world via e-design and your blog. Helping someone pull their home together is a special gift because NOT loving where you live can be a huge bummer, and having a designer create a space you and your family find comfortable, and love to be in, is huge!
