Thank you for the sweet feedback on yesterday’s master bedroom reveal! That project was a good lesson for me in editing and less color and I definitely stored some of that inspiration away for future projects. One project, in particular, in my master bedroom! I have let this room sit untouched for several years now and it’s high time I make some updates. I am always hesitant to change my master because I really love my room. Even though it doesn’t have the exact furniture or textiles that I want currently, it is my quiet, cozy space away from the chaos. I don’t ever want to lose that feeling, but I am ready to spruce it up a bit!
Here is the most current picture I have of our room…
One thing that is not working for me is my bed! Our mattress is going on 10 years old now and my back is proof that it is time for a replacement! Choosing a mattress has become more and more important to me as I get older because I really notice the difference a good one makes on the quality of my sleep…and I need my sleep! I recently found Mattress Advisor and got lost in the wealth of information on choosing a mattress. Their comprehensive site offers advice on everything from mattress guides to mattress reviews. This article about choosing a mattress without sleeping on it first was especially helpful to me because there are so many great options out there now that don’t have typical brick and mortar locations. I had reservations about choosing a mattress without testing it first but after reading through the reviews and advice I feel sure I could pull the trigger without a lot of anxiety. So in addition to researching the perfect mattress I am planning to bring some new pieces to the room….
I want to keep the cool blues but add in lighter furniture pieces. I love the look of this white washed wood bed and this distressed dresser. They are not a matching set but I think the antiqued finishes would blend well. I also would want to add a warmer tone of wood with the nightstands. I love the gold ring pulls on this piece and the fact that it offers more storage. It is high time we replaced the chair that just somehow ended up in our room and I love this casual slip covered option! Our rug is definitely showing it’s age so I would replace it with this soft blue one. And speaking of blue, y’all know I am not quitting the navy obsession any time soon. I love this mud cloth indigo pillow to change things up on the bed.
A big part of my makeover will revolve around adding in texture. I have found more and more that I prefer layers of texture rather than layers of color. I love the idea of adding a driftwood mirror and of course, fresh greenery! As much as I have loved the color on our walls I know it needs a refresh so it might be a good time to go a different direction. I am considering adding one accent wall in a deep hunter green to play off all the earthy materials. I think this would provide the perfect backdrop for a simple gallery wall of family photos. My beach art will stay no matter what!
So that’s what I have roughed out for our master. What are you dying to change about your bedroom?? Who has bedding they received as a wedding present? Come on, don’t be shy let’s share the dirt! Who is still rocking that mahogany bed from Pottery Barn circa 2003?! I know I am not alone in my need for a refresh and I would love to gift one lucky person with a FREE design board! I will provide design boards for your room along with a complete shopping list so you can complete the room with my guidance on your timeline! To enter just leave a comment here or on my Instagram post today telling me why you room is in dire need of a makeover! I will choose one winner and announce it next Friday, December 15th.

Why do I need a bedroom makeover? Well…because it’s never actually been decorated! I have a headboard and lamps that I like, and that’s about it.

Oh let me be that lucky person! I need a quiet oasis! Our bedroom has never been complete since we moved in almost 5 years ago. I would love your vision and help!

Why do I need a bedroom makeover? I am sleeping on the same bed I’ve had since I was 15!!!! I feel your mattress pains. I would love a design board. My room is begging for a complete overhaul! The only thing I would like to keep is the wall color.

I desperately need this! All of our kids have actual bedroom furniture, cute designs, etc! My husband and I have NEVER had anything cohesive! Our bedroom is pieced together with hand me downs and all we have is a mattress and box springs. I will feel like a “real adult “ if I had an adult looking bedroom!!

My bedroom is the land of misfit furniture! It’s where all things that have no other place to go end up. Haven’t ‘decorated’ since I moved 7 years ago!! Since I’m the only one who sees it I just haven’t bothered…but I would love a retreat!! Definitely checking out the mattress info, as mine is 14+ and a holdover from married life! LOL

We need a bedroom makeover – it’s one of the last rooms in the house that has not even been touched since getting married last year and moving in together. I’m struggling with picking out a wall color and furniture pieces and could use some help! It’s so easy to start with the rooms that company usually sees and leave the rest for last but we really need our bedroom to feel “done” so it’s more of a place for relaxing!

So many reasons…where to start. Our maste bedroom is pretty big (it used to be a 2 car garage). It’s large enough that that we comfortable fit a king sized bed AND a mammoth, ugly brown leather sectional and still have tons of room. I have no idea how to fill up the room to make it stylish, cozy and comfortable. We have a bunch of mismatched furniture (hello yellow side table that I spray painted myself…ick). Help!

Our bedroom definitely needs help and I’m stuggling to pick just one direction to go in. Currently we have a hand me down “matching” bedroom set from my husband’s parents and I would love to add more personality. Thanks!

We just moved into a new house this summer and our master has been so neglected in terms of design/ decor. We are stuck on what to do b/c it’s such a long space! Help!! I want it cozy, not too feminine/ not to masculine- perfect balance! I fear it will stay like it’s current state for years due to not knowing what to do with the space. 🙏😳😉

In desperate need to crawl into an amazing bed, look around at a gorgeous designed room for a hot second before my kids come running in, jump on my bed, build pillow forts and declare it’s not fair for Daddy to get to sleep with mommy. They should too!!
No worries, I hussel then back to their room before crashing!

I would love to receive a design board for our master bedroom! I absolutely love your style and love following your Instagram. We built our home almost 3 years ago (it will be 3 years in February) and have never quite finished the master bedroom. Of course my kids rooms along with the living and dining rooms came first. We have nothing hung on the walls, mismatched very old nightstands, and hand me down furniture. I always have good intentions of attempting to finish the master bedroom but life has a way of happening, ha! I am also scared of making the wrong choices on furniture, accent pieces, and wall art and it not looking right!
Thank you for offering this giveaway!
