Did you need to make any changes to your plan?
How’s it going?
Linda’s One Room Challenge carries on another week! First of all, can I get a hallelujah that my client’s couch arrived earlier than expected. I thought for sure I would need to make big changes…like how to style pillows on the floor instead of a couch, but thanks be to the couch gods! And overall our plans are still going well, which in itself scares me because I never have such smooth sailing. Maybe that curse only applies to my house and maybe that’s just because I am so impulsive and impatient when it comes to my own home??
We have made one addition to the plan and that is to add a console table. Once the couch came in it was apparent we needed something to kind of temper all of the leather. Even though it is a large space it is open to the kitchen which means people in there would be getting a boring view of the back of a very large leather couch.
And ps. how much do y’all love those floors. Distressed goodness.
So I have been looking at consoles and this one is a front-runner.
I am going to check it out in person and see what color we are dealing with. Grey-blue?
There will be some grey and a touch of navy in the room so I think it could work.
One thing we have to consider when choosing the console is the possibility of another piece of furniture that would be nearby. We had discussed trying to find some type of storage to house toys but that could also function as a sort of buffet down the road. With all of the wood in the room (walls, floors, mantle) it is tricky choosing finishes that compliment each other. I definitely think we go dark on that piece of furniture, especially if we do a lighter piece behind the sofa. Maybe something like this:
We are quickly trying to make these decisions so that all is in place for the big reveal. I will have no finger nails left after this process!
I am still compiling all of the accessories and right now I could run a small store out of my guest room…
I gotta get back to it- see ya next week with the last update before the big reveal!
If you missed any of my progress you can go back and check it out, here.
And don’t forget to go see what everyone else is up to!
