So I am going to let you all in on a little secret…my room is finished. Done. Complete! I had pictures taken this week and I am officially through with the One Room Challenge for spring 2016! I’ve learned to be a little ahead of the game and eliminate that last minute stress. Frees up time for me to move on to other stress-inducing projects that don’t need to be done around my house. #help
But to keep with the schedule of my weekly updates I am showing a few peeks at the art and the final accessories. If you have missed my other weeks catch up here: Week 1 , Week 2 , Week 3, Week 4.
As you know I have worked my way through most of my task list but I always save my favorite part until the end, the accessories. As cliche as it sounds I totally believe it’s the small details that make a room. I love my house now, nine years after we moved in, so much more than when it was brand spanking new because we have added so many little details that represent our style and family. It takes living in a place to realize how you use a space so sometimes that perfect lamp isn’t added until you realize that spot is where you always end up with a magazine. Or sometimes it just takes living there to see that that wall needs something or the bed could use another layer of pattern and color. It’s a tough job to choose these kind of finishing pieces right off the bat but some of us love that challenge (hire me!) and I always find my groove adding in the layers.
For Harper’s room I had to restrain myself a little as not to compete with the patterned walls and bedding but I can always find a way to add in black and white photos, pillows, and a little lucite!

One of the reasons I love kids spaces so much is that their stuff always makes the best accessories. Books are a great way to add color and they mine as well be up on display. I love these inexpensive lucite wall ledges!
Here’s a sneak of her bedding. I finally found a the final piece- this throw blanket. I was looking for a duvet but I love the colors and pattern of this one and her room tends to be a little hot anyway so this weight is perfect. Harper was helping me measure for a bolster.
Next week is the final reveal and I cannot wait to share the pictures!
