The past month has been a whirlwind! We have been out of town for the last several weekends and I am heading to Asheville this weekend. I love traveling and being busy, but I am definitely ready to slow down. Three weekends in a row of packing for myself and the kids and I’m over it. Especially since that stuff has to be unpacked as well. Bummer. I have been in such a vicious cycle of pack, unpack, laundry, pack that I haven’t even had time to really look through all of the ORC links. I also have slacked big time on replying to comments. I am going to spend some time catching up today!
After being in NYC last weekend and seeing all of the Christmas decorations I got so excited for the holidays! Thanksgiving is slowly becoming my favorite. It falls during the perfect time of year and revolves around food. How have I not declared it my favorite before now?? To me, Thanksgiving has always been a day when I hang out with family, watch movies, sit by a fire, and enjoy the fall weather. This year we will be spending the holiday with Taylor’s family but if I were hosting this is how I’d like to imagine I would do it…
First off, I have created the perfect natural Thanksgiving table. I would grab some things from my yard and then add in some touches of gold. And don’t forget all the pretty dish ware. I think this year I would go for a mix of oranges and teals. How much do you love those tortoise glasses?
A perfect mix of bright fall colors and mix and match plates to keep the vibe casual. And of course a little brass and gold never hurt nobody. Next, I would host this feast in my beautiful backyard (the one in my mind). I would set it up something like this…
Hanging lanterns, farmhouse table, mixed chairs, pillows and throws…check check check.
And my party is not going to be without some wildflowers.
I’d just stick them in those gourd vases I whipped up!
I’m tired just dreaming up this little situation, but it would be gorgeous.
And speaking of holiday decorating, I have some exciting news coming your way soon!
I won’t keep ya waiting too long though because the holidays are sneaking up on us.
Check back in tomorrow for the good news!

Is it weird that my dream job would be setting tables for catalogue shoots?!

Ahhh…Thanksgiving dinner outside…I love it! Something we could actually do here in California. I definitely plan to bring in some natural touches to my indoor table setting. Love the touches of gold too…
