I have been catching y’all up to date on my impending living room changes. I have been slowly working my way to a better design for this room, beginning with a new larger rug…
I also really want to eventually change the coffee table, console, light, chairs and maybe throw in some new pillows to the mix. It takes some deep breathing exercises to keep me from completely ripping this room apart on a daily basis. For the next several weeks I will have some talented ladies sharing their vision for my room. I am giving them the guidelines which are to work around a few existing pieces but, otherwise it is a free-for-all. I need fresh eyes and some motivation to redesign this room in a way that will finally make me happy.
I am trying to let this diverse group just take the reigns but I thought I would share a few things that sum up the style I’m going for. I want blues, metallics, woven textures, and I am all about accessories.
This is all leading up to my reveal of which rug I chose from RugsUSA. It is a gorgeous little number that I am going to layer over the jute rug and I really think its going to help bring this room closer to a finish. I don’t want to reveal it until I see all of their designs…hopefully they don’t make me totally second-guess my decision. Eek. I can’t wait to see what these ladies have up their sleeves! Next week will kick off the very first design board and a full schedule of everyone who is participating!

Should be fun to see ideas from other designers for your own room! With blues, metallic and textures as the guidelines I'm sure there'll be some lovely designs. I'd really like to see the seating moved closer to the fireplace with the walls reserved for storage / display (shelves, desk, gallery wall, etc.). How is this room used anyway … family space or adult space for entertaining?
