See what’s missing from this room?
Aside from a lighter couch, it’s a rug!
My living room is my dirty little secret bc I feel like it is so un-finished.
I have hated not having a rug more than anything else so I decided to make an impulse purchase last week. I have been scanning rugs for months but for some reason I could never take the plunge.
I bought a runner for a client and it ended up not working for her foyer. I brought it home thinking it may go nicely in my kitchen but it didn’t work there either. However, after testing it out I realized that it was really soft. And neutral. And a natural fiber rug. All things I had been looking for.
I went on Target’s website and was ecstatic to see they carried it in a 7×10 for less than $300!
With an additional sale going on I was able to pay for the rug PLUS shipping for $250.
A week later here she is in all her glory!
(ignore the terrible pics…my camera is still m.i.a)
A close up…
I love the burnt orange border.
And, in other news I downloaded the Instagram app. I had asked for your opinions on it last week and this weekend my sister-in-law, Brandy, showed me how to use it.
I am not sucked in just yet but I do like the vintage-feel of the pictures.
It will at least make my phone pictures a little more exciting until I find my camera.
Note: I am sure some of you style-savvy readers will notice that the rug’s proportions are a little off for this room. At least, I think so. In a perfect world I would choose a rug that is a 9×12 but the dimensions of this room don’t work with that. The room is very narrow and a rug any wider would interfere with the tile around the fireplace and the front door.
