Way back when, when the One Room Challenge began I had a hard time deciding which room to tackle. I ultimately decided on my dining room since we use it everyday, but there was another room that I was itching to makeover….
The kids’ bathroom
We never use this bathroom so I rarely think about it other than when I flip on the light and almost scream at the bright green paint. What was I thinking?
I really want to make some changes that will help this bathroom coordinate better with the kids’ bedrooms, but that in itself is a challenge because their rooms look very different from each other:
Clearly the rooms have two different styles, but I think I can somehow meld the two. To do that I am thinking it will need the following:
stencil or unique wall treatment
nautical accessories
cool fabric
metal accents
Other than that I am not sure what all I want to do with this space. The shower curtain will stay, as well as the vanity because it is not in the budget to do a full reno nor do I really want to- I think this room could be majorly improved with just some simple changes.
Here is a peek at what I have in mind:
I actually made that design board a long time ago and the fabric has since sold out with no hope of being restocked 🙁 #decoratorproblems
So, I will be on the hunt for a new fabric and all the other fun stuff. This is going to be my only “major” summer project within my house because, as I have done every year, I will be slowing down during the summer months. Other than some e-design clients and current projects, I will be spending most of my time entertaining my kids and planning some fun stuff with them.
I hope to make a little progress on this bathroom each month and you can be sure I will be checking in for your opinions and give you updates!
Here are some of my inspiration photos:

I have learned from my mistakes of the past and trying to do too much. I don't want to be a screaming maniac for all of their memories 🙂
