Welcome back from the weekend! I hope all the mamas out there had a fine time being spoiled. My day consisted of brunch with my mom, a kids movie, and mexican food. Half-way through the day I looked down and noticed my chipped and awful looking toenails and it dawned on me right there- this is motherhood. I am living motherhood right now. My pedicure doesn’t come first, in fact, a lot of my needs no longer come first. I spend most days being someone else’s cheerleader without anyone noticing or thanking me. I cook, clean, fold, put away, put away again, and do it all again the next day. Sometimes I get caught up in the daily routines and think how unfair until I realize that all of this, the monotonous this is exactly what I wanted. No I didn’t have a clue what motherhood would entail but, I did know that I wanted kids almost as soon as we got married. I couldn’t wait to see little mini-me’s, and name them, and dress them. I couldn’t wait hear someone call me mommy and I wanted to do it all as good as my mom did. I prayed and wished for each kid and even though most of it’s not glamorous, motherhood is all that I ever wanted and it is beyond rewarding. And in lieu of the sad news I shared yesterday, I realize more than ever it is a privilege to be someone’s mom. So cheers to chipped polish and a meal with three really loud dinner guests!
Now back to design talk….and fittingly we will be talking about my retreat from it all, my master bedroom. My room is simple and serene and that’s why it’s the last room on my list usually. Although it is not perfectly decorated, it is my favorite place in our house. It soothes me and feels like a nest. I shared these pictures awhile back…

Having a bedroom that let's you get away from it all is so super important!

Our master bedroom is in desperate need…it's definitely been the most neglected room in the house. Love what you've done with yours, very nest-like/relaxing indeed!
