I recently concluded two things:
organizing your kids’ clothes could be considered a part-time job
the Camera+ app is awesome!
My boys share a room hence the one closet.
The task of sorting through the outgrown clothes, passing them down, sorting spring from fall,
consigning, folding, and hanging is never-ending.
And I have to be super on top of it to maximize this space.
Here is my breakdown on how to make one closet work for two boys
through the lens of my Camera+ app…
I used a canvas shoe holder to divide the closet.
A bowtie also helps create a visual divide.
Over-the-door hooks add some extra space for bags, hats, and belts.
I put a cubby on each side to house folded items as well as
seasonal items like bathing suits.
I also use the lower half of the shoe holder for winter hats and gloves.
Baskets corral seasonal things and extra hangers (always buy extra!)
And the top shelf houses extra blankets, diapers, and yes, a fire extinguisher.
And yes, the boys know how to use it in case of emergency.
And just like in my own closet, I always hang clothes according to sleeve-length and color.
Makes grabbing an outfit a lot easier especially when the boys are picking their own clothes.
