I literally despise myself for talking about fall in August. I have always hated when people rush from one season to the next but there are a couple of reasons for my premature jump. One- I have had 2 of my 3 kids sidelined from the pool/ocean due to surgery and a broken leg and without the most quintessential summer activity is just hasn’t felt like summer. It’s been nice to still have an open schedule and no routine but I feel like summer ended for us back in July. And two- I am participating in two fall home tour series and that means gathering my own ideas far before the actual season so I can share them with you all.
Even with all that going on, I still find it a little hard to get motivated for seasonal decor so I needed something to kickstart my ideas. I have always decorated with specific colors or an overall feel more so than a “theme” and this year will likely be the same. I decided to make a good ole fashion inspiration board. I forget how helpful those are…
I have a large bulletin board that hangs right beside my computer so I decided to display all of the pages I have been ripping out. It makes such a difference to me to see these images like this.
I have collected everything from colors to textures to specific items that I want…
Dying, dying, dying for the wallpaper in that large picture.
Still working on convincing Taylor that leafy prints are not grandmotherly anymore.
Also, is it weird that I am really craving more beige this fall?
This fall I really want to set a proper table and have a warm and cozy get-together…
I’d prefer to end that cozy night around a fire pit.
And I need a whole boat load of reclaimed wood in my house this year.
Oh, and green! Emerald green everywhere.
I have my sights set on these black arm chairs.
Somehow, someway I will add two to our table!
And kids’ storage is heavy on my brain…several updates coming to my kids’ spaces soon!
What’s on your fall radar?
If you’re not sure yet, take a minute and go through those mail catalogues.
Rip out what speaks to you and put it front and center.
I promise you will find yourself full of new ideas!

fun exercise! I'm ready for my kids to go back to school, but not for summer weather to end!
