This summer has been exactly what I needed.
I started off trying to accomplish a million things in every day and by the end of June I about had a nervous breakdown. I decided to regroup and figure out how to not only make things work, but to make life more enjoyable too.
We started focusing on the our Bucket List…
It’s been nice to have a to-do list that is focused on the simple things.
I have taken a picture of each thing we have crossed off and plan to make a photo book of “Bucket List 2013” I am usually so not that mom when it comes to this kind of stuff so I am feeling pretty proud of my keep-saking skills this summer!
I’ve also been doing fun stuff with just Taylor, like this Black Keys concert…
Sometimes I feel older than I really am so it’s nice to change the pace.
And there is no better place to recharge than the beach.
Oliver snapped this photo with my phone and I did the editing.
I love it and really want an inexpensive way to print a large size.
Does anyone know how to do that?
I have searched Pinterest but haven’t come up with anything yet.
And back in work-world I have felt way less stressed and back to enjoying this job.
{Can’t wait to share the photos I had taken of this room!!}
I am consciously scheduling meetings and my workload so that I am not overwhelmed.
I have started working on a every-other-week schedule and it has made all the difference.
As I look towards the fall I am considering keeping this type of schedule because it seems to be the best way for me to keep the balance as well as my sanity.
What good is doing what you love or spending time with people you love if you aren’t relaxed enough to enjoy any of it?!
So that’s where we are mid-summer and I have to say I am really sad thinking about school starting again. I am usually that mom who can’t wait for the kids to go back but slowing down this summer has really made the days relaxing and fun. I hope your summers are feeling the same!

There's been a dearth of fun around our house this summer {and well beyond} and so I'm really inspired by your "fun" bucket list … do'able things that don't require travel to for away places or jumping out of planes! I've got to see if I can even make a list of fun things?!? For the beach print you'd like to print in a large format, don't know how large you want to go, but I divided an image into 9 equal sections using Photoshop and printed each as an 11 x 14, which produced a rather large print. If you lay the pieces together it looks like a single image. I've posted about the process or I'd be happy to answer any questions.
