I have been slow to upload and share pictures from some client projects this year. It’s amazing how quickly months fly by! Lexy’s room was one of my favorite projects because kids rooms are always a lot of fun. Especially when the kid is like Lexy and knows exactly what she likes. Not in a bossy bratty way, in a fun creative way. Her main requests were that the room include blue and horses. Well, her exact words were actually, “I want horses cantering around the room.” Did I mention she is a MAJOR horse fanatic!? Her mom, Michelle told me that if she could live in a barn that’s what she would want.
So in order to include some horsey/barn elements I tried to tie in some rustic stuff and to keep mama happy I also tried to keep some antique/Anthropologie-ish elements. It was fun to combine the two…
First and foremost we added 2 IKEA shelves for additional storage. I am telling ya, the girl has more horse figurines than you can imagine! I also backed the shelves with fabric to brighten them up and add some color to that corner of the room.

Thanks Kim! I saved some horseshoes and am trying to figure out how to use them in my own house!
