I have been pinning and bookmarking kilim rugs forever in the hopes of one day adding one to my kitchen. Every time I find one with the colors I love it is roughly 1 billion dollars. So imagine my little hearts delight when I found this rug the other day at HomeGoods…
In all fairness it is not a true kilim, more of a cotton mat, but I love the colors and the print is close enough for me. And at $15 the price is more than ok.
I have started leaving my little wooden chair here because my boys have become the resident sous chefs. If I have learned anything about being a mother of boys it’s this…unsupervised time = disaster. I have also learned that men from a really young age love a job. While mine might not love washing beans it does keep them from destroying my house.
I also moved my newly covered pot in here for some pattern pretty.
Because I always have ripe lemons in a pretty bowl. Always.
I also wanted a tray to corral all of my pretty bottles.
Every room needs some sort of pretty tray to hold essentials of that room.
My kitchen essentials: counter spray, soap, flowers, ring dish
I found this fuchsia dish at Target and am so in love. It’s sitting pretty next to the last of my Valentine’s flowers.
I am a packaging whore and buy most things based on appearances, but this Mrs. Meyers counter spray is actually one of my new favorite products. My whole kitchen smells like Antropologie after I use it! Get it at Target!
I do have a couple of little items on my list for my kitchen to help me accept it until our cabinets are painted. I am nudging the husband to do it this summer. White and brass….yes!!
I want to layer my new rug over this:
And then add a little lucite with this paper towel holder:
It’s always nice to have an audience. I had a couple of very helpful coworkers on this day….
Harper and her best cousin-buddy, Amos.
How, you may ask, did they get those fruit snacks?
My very resourceful little daughter…
