This summer is rolling along and I have been making several changes around my house. I always seem to get these bursts where I add another layer to our house. A lot of the changes were spurred by my upcoming home tour. Marty from A Stroll Thru Life is hosting the 2015 Summer Home Tours this week and I was lucky enough to be included. It definitely kicked my butt into gear! So far the tours have been so good and I am looking forward to the rest. You can check mine out on Friday!
To see all of the tours so far, start here!
One room that won’t be included on my tour is my kids’ bathroom.
You heard me talk about it before here
And I even drafted up some plans for the space
But at the end of the day this bathroom is still sitting there without any real changes.
Mainly because I don’t see it everyday (we use our bathroom for most baths, etc.)
Out of sight, out of mind, right?
This summer I would like to finally change a few things and I feel like I can pull it off
without spending a whole lot. Here is the new/revised plan…
1. DIY skirt for the sink
(I actually bought the fabric this week!)
2. Choose a new paint color and paint
3. Swap out shower curtain
4. Remove towel bar and replace with hooks
I like this one…
Let’s be honest- kids are much more likely to toss a towel up on a hook before
laying it neatly over a towel bar!
5. Paint the countertops…
Yep, you heard me. I hate the countertops in this room and I really want to paint them.
I know when I mention this to Taylor he is going to turn green.
Hey, maybe he will even decide we just need a new vanity?!
So that’s plan for now. It always seems so manageable in the beginning doesn’t it!
Make sure to stop by tomorrow because I am going to share some of my favorites from

we have hooks for our kids towels, and they still end up on the floor often, but yes hooks are a better candidate than bars! 🙂

I love the skirted sink idea for their bathroom! So cute!
