That drives me crazy because I love to see the actual transformation but my camera has gone missing and I have given up on ever finding it.
ANYWAYS….this is one of my favorite “after’s!”
Jennifer has a great spacious master bedroom and there was a sitting area that was going unused.
She had the perfect empty space to use as a cozy hideaway from her kids!
The only thing that was in the space previously were the blue walls, otherwise the walls and floors were blank.
Here is the cozy sitting area after…
We constructed a cool stained wood wall.
I used a local guy who did a great job (with my husband as his assistant!)
The dark stain made a great contrast against the cool blue walls.
Jennifer really wanted to keep the open airy feel of the room so we used a lot of neutrals.
Starting with a plush faux sheepskin rug, layered with an upholstered linen ottoman.
*The rug appears to have yellow areas but it real life it is just ivory.
We used her existing loveseat and flanked it with sconces.
I also added an ivory carved-wood mirror.
Across from her lounging area was the perfect spot for her desk (one restored by her father-in-law).
We also used long ivory panels to keep the clean lines.
The chair I originally ordered did not work out so we are still in the process of adding that piece.
Here is the view from her bed…
To add a little pattern to the room I framed some swatches of a suzani print. I also added the fabric to the tray on the ottoman.
This fabric tied in another area in the room.
She has a long, high, narrow window that needed some TLC so we added
matching panels and moved a chest under it.
The chest is another piece that she already owned so we repurposed it as more seating.
We had a bench cushion made with the suzani fabric and threw on some toss pillows.
Now she has multiple areas to sit and relax in her bedroom…a perfect escape from busy days with three young children!
