This past weekend was my second Style Session Live event. This time I was joined by Summer as my co-host and we had so much fun! It’s always nice to have a buddy by your side especially when you’re giving advice on the fly! We were thrown a variety of design dilemmas…how to mix patterns, what size rug to purchase, how to break up a matching bedroom set, paint color selection, gallery wall ideas, etc. Hopefully we shed a little light on these subjects for all of the wonderful people who came out on a rainy day no less!
Speaking of sharing my bag of tricks…I though it would be fun to share a look into my work bag today! Am I the only one who loves behind-the-scenes type stuff? I love seeing what’s in a person’s purse or on their desk and I thought maybe you all would like to see the items I can’t live without when it comes to my day-to-day work life.
I love this perforated leather bag from Old Navy. This white color is great but I actually bought it in camel but that picture is not online. It’s the perfect size and has a pocket on the inside.
Inside I always carry my monogrammed leather measuring tape. It was a gift from my sister-in-law and is one of my top 5 favorite gifts. I also always have my phone and Macbook whether it’s for directions, phone calls, quickly referencing an image, or going over a design plan. I mean, none of us can live without our technology. Sad but true.
I also like good ole fashioned pen and paper too though and would rather see my schedule down in my planner. I keep my daily appointments as well as a never-ending to-do list.
I have learned a couple of things over the years too, one of which is the importance of a handy snack. I don’t like to interrupt a meeting with a growling stomach so I keep a few of my favorite Larabars with me all the time. I get on kicks with food and eat one thing for a long time. I have been religiously snacking on these bars for a year now. I have also learned that a comfortable pair of shoes is crucial. Sometimes I go out on a limb and wear heels but I feel faster and more at ease in flats so I try to keep a pair in my bag.
So those are my work necessities. What about you? What things are always in your bag?

Oooooooh I love your monogrammed tape measure Beth! I have to try those Larabars, they are all the talk. I've heard about them from about 5 people in one week!

You need to! I love the dark chocolate peanut flavor! I can only ever find it by the cash register in Target though so I always stock up.
