We are truckin right through this summer and I, for one, am sad that school is starting soon. I know I will love the time alone but I am going to miss these unstructured days. One of my new favorite things to do is go for walks down our street and find pretty flowers and greenery. I don’t steal from my neighbors but I am sure some of them are starting to wonder why I am always breaking branches off random trees and bushes.
Today’s loot…
I like the wild look of these flowers more than store bought arrangements.
Although after seeing this link I may revisit grocery store flowers again.
There are a handful of things that I consider comfort items. Obviously there is food on that list…cheese grits, country steak, sliced tomatoes but, there are also things on that list that bring back such strong memories. One is this little loaf of bread that sits on our dining room table.
We had a “Daily Bread” loaf always on our table when I was growing up. So much so, that I thought it was just a standard part of any dinner table, like forks or napkins.
Each card has a verse on it and I can so remember my dad letting us choose one and read it to everyone. I get immediate nostalgia when I do the same with my kids now.
My grandmother found this one for me and you can buy one, here.
Do you have any comfort items like this??

Oh, thanks! It's amazing what an iPhone can do. I barely lug out my "nice" camera anymore!
