I am by no means an art expert but I know that having a great piece can really make a statement in a room. Choosing art should not be intimidating nor should buying it. I think the best room designs come from choosing a piece of art that you like, regardless of it’s popularity, price tag or artist. I also know for a fact that you can score really cool artwork for very little money.
Some of my go-to spots for art are Etsy, 20×200, Big Cartel, and retail stores. Both Etsy and 20×200 allow you to search by category (water color) or price range (under $50). Sometimes I search specifically and others I just click on images I see on the front page of the sites. Today I thought I would share some recent art finds that don’t break the bank.
Land of Nod, $14.95 |
Etsy, $22 |
20×200, $60 *I have mentioned these maps from Pretty Maps before, they are gorgeous!! |
Etsy, $49.95 |
Etsy, $65 |
Once again, art should be personal…these examples above represent my taste and may not suit you. They are mean’t to simply show you the endless amounts of art that can be easily found and purchased on the cheap!
And for ideas on how to display your art try to think beyond just hanging. You can lean, collage, stack, and prop! Check out how some of these people chose to do it.
*Another great place to find inspiration on how to display art can be found in catalogues. Check out the next Pottery Barn, West Elm, or Crate and Barrel you receive!
