I usually link up for the Best of Your Nest party the last Friday of every month but, this Friday is a little different. Tomorrow is Harper’s 2nd birthday so I wanted to post about her. This month you have heard a lot about sweet Harper…her Matilda Jane modeling and the fact that she knocked out two front teeth! Ugh that last one still makes my heart drop a little. We have had a crazy month but what’s even crazier is that this tiny sweet pea is already two.
I know it’s annoying to hear mothers talk about how they can’t believe their baby is such and such age. Trust me I even annoy myself when I utter those cliche words but I feel them and understand them now. It’s one of the bittersweet things about deciding to have kids…there’s just no stopping time. Sure, there are about a thousand times a week when I think, please God let this day end or take me out of this moment, but the second I think about how fast time is flying I immediately get that knot in my stomach. It’s hard not to panic a little when you see them learn something new or turn the next year older and realize that all these little moments, good and annoying, are going to be over faster than your grandma can say, “I remember when you were just a little girl.” I get it now Grandma. It probably does feel like that was just yesterday.
{From her 1st Birthday}
Every child is special and means the world to their families and Harper is n exception. I prayed for her before I even knew it would be her and she has seriously changed my heart. I don’t think there is a single day that passes that I don’t look at her and think, Man, she is beautiful! If you follow me on Instagram you have probably picked up on that 🙂
This year it’a all about a low key family party with homemade cupcakes and I wouldn’t have it any other way. The 2nd birthday always feels like the one where you can just kind of skip all the Pinterest insanity, or maybe that’s just the excuse I give myself but I am happy to just hang out with the people who love her like I do and watch her open gifts. She’s feisty right now, that’s for sure so a party might not be the best idea anyways!
So Happy Birthday to my little Harpy Poo! And Happy Halloween to all of you!
