If you follow me on IG you saw that I made the holy trek to Furbish Studios this weekend. I got up, showered, nervously changed my outfit a couple of times, curled my hair and daydreamed about all that I would buy and how I would take Mrs. Meares to lunch where we could laugh about pom poms and kilims. Meanwhile I forgot to pack jackets for the boys and shoes for this boo boo. Poor thing was doomed to an emergency pair of Crocs, but all went well with Furbish and that’s what counts, right?
And, @furbishstudios let me know they were rolling out the red kilim for me regardless….
I think I had perma-grin the entire time I was in this store…
And it did not disappoint in the least! It’s just as eclectic as I had imagined with tons of little collections filling every nook and cranny. Literally every surface gives some sort of inspiration, whether it be mixed up textiles or place settings with pom poms. My favorite was seeing, in person, some of the prints I have stalked online. I also spent a large amount of time grazing over the jewelry. The store just makes you happy people and it has Jamie Meares written all over it.
I came back with a little loot and I can’t wait to use it all in a fun way. I already played a little with my pom pom key chain….
You can’t go to Furbish and not leave with some type of pom pom, am I right? I also played around with a new painting in the store and I will show you all about it tomorrow. Furbish people. It’s the Disneyland for design bloggers!
And aside from the shopping we had a really good time as a family. This is the first time we all slept in a hotel room together and the kids could not have been more thrilled. They were so happy with the hotel pool, free hot chocolate, luggage cart, and being able to jump on the bed that we didn’t need to go anywhere outside of the hotel. Don’t even get me started on the continental breakfast…they thought they had died and gone to heaven.
