Well, I did it! I went jumped on that Fiddle Leaf Fig bandwagon! I stalked my IKEA a little bit and when I saw they were in stock I pounced. For 12 bucks I couldn’t pass it up. It is not as tall as what I was expecting- like more like a potted plant than a tree but I still love it. The boys have dubbed it a fiddle-y fig which is way more fun to say.
My little guy.
And lucky as I was to get my fig, I have not been as lucky in the leg department.
It seems my pretty nipen legs are popular.
I am making one last trip on Friday to see if the legs have been restocked,
but if not, my desk will continue to sit on sawhorses 🙁
I have been swamped this week but it has been nice to
have some time to work on my own house for a change.
I also had some time to do some much more important errands…
You see, way back when I first arrived at college
my best friend and I were feeling out of place and homesick.
We kind of knew this nice older guy from our hometown and he invited us over for dinner.
There was no creepy factor and, based on our outfits and haircuts, I can assure you
he was not hitting on us!
It was really and truly just an act of kindness to help welcome two nerdy girls.
Fast forward 16 years and we all are back in the same town again with families of our own.
His 4-year-old daughter was just diagnosed with leukemia and has a long road ahead.
Since she can’t go back to preschool for awhile they mentioned
setting up a school room for her at home.
I decided this was the perfect opportunity to finally clean out my craft closet.
I got myself organized and passed on some stuff
to a little girl that definitely deserves some sunshine…double win.
It’s nice to pay it forward and to be reminded to always be thankful.
These blue skies that are finally back have helped me be more thankful too…
