I got a wild hair this weekend to do a little painting. My bedroom has always been my favorite room in our house because it is very serene. I am always hesitant to change anything about it because I am afraid it will take away it’s peaceful quality. But if I am being honest, my room is a little plain so I was ready to add a little pizazz.
There is this great arched doorway leading to our closets and bathroom…
I had the idea to paint a tribal/moroccan tile-inspired design. I know that’s a pretty loose description, but here is the best representation of what I was imagining.

I just wanted something that looked somewhat abstract. Problem was, the design was in my head and not in the form of a ready-made stencil. I grabbed an old Jell-O package and started cutting but my husband was worried my little stencil was going to make for a very long process.

Beth,
I so love how you went from inspiration to crafting your own stencil and the result on the archway is fantastic. Walking through the arch I'm sure it whispers "hello, I'm special" each and every time 🙂 I've pinned it to consider for my archway too. Thanks for sharing.
