I have become a furniture junkie. Or maybe I should say junk furniture junkie. I can’t pass a piece of cast off furniture without at least seriously considering if it will fit in the back of my car. Because of this little habit I have a basement full of random pieces. This shelf, however was an old piece I inherited from my mom and it has been in various places in our house. It’s basic structure was fine but I really didn’t love the plain mahogany, especially since it didn’t match much else in our house. I have been dying to try out this painting technique so this shelf was the perfect victim. It was so easy and very inexpensive (I tweaked the technique a little and left out some steps, if you are interested in full instructions email me). I think for a first try it turned out pretty fabulous…

Ryan it could not be any easier! Seriously it was done (dry and all) in less than 2 hours.
