When we walk into a new client’s house it usually goes a little like this:
DPI: Show us around. Tell us a little about what you are hoping to accomplish.
Client: I’m sorry my house is a mess. Is this the worst house you’ve ever seen?? Sorry, I am probably rambling. Is there any help for me?? I like this. I hate that. My budget is this but don’t let that limit the ideas you show me. How soon can we start??
That’s obviously a summary but you get the gist. All of our potential clients think their house is the worst on the block with the most embarrassing lack of style. And the truth is we are just looking around getting excited at all the possibilities! When a client forms the trust with us to let us just really “do our thing” it is so magical! We are able to see the room through a new design vision and bring your space to life! Updated life 🙂
When we came into this house we saw so much potential to update her living and dining room. And here’s why this project was able to move along with very few bumps (there are always some in every project):
She trusted our vision
She was decisive
She did not go out and buy random things in between meetings
Her budget was realistic
BEFORE
DINING ROOM AFTER
LIVING ROOM AFTER
Here’s where we splurged:
New carpet to brighten things up along with a lightweight rug layered for interest
Fresh paint
A pair fo upholstered swivel armchairs
New pillows and curtains for fresh new pattern
Purchased a new dining table, chairs, and bench
Purchased a new buffet
Brought in all new accessories
Here’s where we saved:
Kept their existing couch
Kept their existing coffee table
Kept their existing end table
Worked around their existing grasscloth wallpaper (dining room) because it was gorgeous!
Repurposed her existing entry cabinet with new paint and hardware

We are also working on some website updates that will hopefully serve as a guide to our process and make getting on our calendar much easier! Stay tuned…
