my latest finds from IKEA
I’ve had to kind of work to get back into a decorating mindset. I’ve learned to be fine with the slumps and I have also learned what helps jumpstart my brain and that is definitely getting out into stores. Whether it’s stopping by West Elm to see their ever-inspiring window displays (I always leave itching to do a DIY project) or aimlessly roaming Target (does Nate ever miss?!) being in an actual store always gets me excited about decorating again. Last week I headed off to IKEA to check a couple of things and get my mojo back in general. I went hoping to see the Arjeplog light in person…
Anyway, I am clear on the type of light this room needs now though and I will share more of that progress as we go. And, I did find a few things that did work…
I have a DIY in mind for these scissors ($3). Ok, ok yes I want to spray paint them gold. I know that’s totally predictable but aren’t they going to look great?!
I bought the Nattljus comforter ($20) for our guest room. The bed in there really needed another layer and this one adds such great texture.
The Askholmen plant stand ($20) could easily work as a small bookshelf tucked in the corner of a kitchen nook or kids room.
I never leave IKEA without at least 2 or 3 small plants. They are so inexpensive I never feel bad killing them. I also bought a couple of flower pots that are really pretty. They look like terra-cotta but I can’t seem to find them online.
The Luktaster pillow could pass as the inexpensive sister to this West Elm pillow I have been conveting. I mean, it’s not exact but it is $8! I have to nail down some other living room details before I commit to pillows though.
